Driven by a belief in living life to the fullest, Liz has spent her life embracing challenges that test both physical and mental limits. At 21 she qualified as a Yachtmaster Instructor, led sailing expeditions, and later completed a solo voyage to Greece.
In 2005 she rowed the Atlantic in one of the world’s toughest endurance races, surviving hurricanes, capsizes and equipment failure to reach the Caribbean, becoming the 19th woman ever to row an ocean and the first woman to row into Antigua.
Liz later qualified to represent Great Britain in Olympic and Ironman distance triathlon, competing internationally from 2018 to 2022 while balancing a full-time career and motherhood.
In 2023, shortly after competing at the World Championships in Abu Dhabi, she was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent pioneering proton beam therapy at The Christie Hospital in Manchester. Now in remission, Liz channels her experiences into powerful talks on resilience, perspective and overcoming adversity.
Today as an ultra-endurance runner who recently completed 105km and is aiming for 100-mile races, Liz reminds audiences that resilience is built through the challenges we choose and those life places in our path.
